BRIT Awards Nominations Announced
Ed Sheeran might have carried away the most nominations last
night - British Male Solo Artist, Best British Breakthrough Act,
British Single and British Album of the Year - but the talented and
gorgeous Adele was hot on his heels. Nominated for Best Female Solo
Artist and contesting Ed in both Best British Breakthrough Act and
British Album of the Year, we think she's the most likely act to
see girl power triumph at 2012's ceremony on the 21st of February.
At last year's awards it was her performance of 'Someone Like You'
that catapulted her to global stardom, so we're expecting a
show-stopping turn as she sings live for the first time since
taking a break due to illness in October.
Fans of more out-there style than Adele's subtle, classy looks
would do well to keep an eye on her rival in the Best British
Breakthrough Act, Anna Calvi. With a trademark red glamour look
that evokes the golden era of Hollywood, she might just have the
style - as well as the songs - to make 2012 her year. Picking up
nominations for Best British Breakthrough Act as well as Best
Female Solo Artist, megastar Jessie J debuted both a new
long-haired look and an unusually restrained purple striped dress,
with a similarly natural makeup look to match.
In the singles race, we're torn between the fabulous Pixie Lott
with 'All About Tonight', Jessie J's amazing 'Price Tag' and of
course The Wanted, with their hit 'Glad You Came'. Though we'd
normally be rooting for the girls, on this occasion we've got to
say we'd love to see The Wanted win - just in time for their UK
Tour with our beautiful Fanfair girls!
